Self-Care is the act of doing something self-preserving for yourself. It can include getting a massage, doing yoga or meditation and even just taking a shower after a long day. Self-Care is extremely important for everyone, but especially those in recovery.
Self-Care is extremely important for everyone, but especially those in recovery. It helps you learn to nourish your body, decrease anxiety and relax.
Throughout my recovery, I have participated a lot in different types of self-care. Without self-care, recovery would have been much more taxing on me mentally, physically and emotionally. It has helped me immensely in recovery.
I am going to be starting a group of posts on Sundays under Self-Care Sunday. I will be talking about different types of self-care that I use personally and why it is beneficial to my recovery and why you should do it. 🙂
Speaking of self-care, later today I am actually going to a hot yoga class. It is my first one and I am excited. I hope I enjoy it.
